Often overlooked, but necessary nonetheless!
These can be built in any size, depending on your requirements.
For home/personal use we would recommend an RSJ Steel and Sleeper construction with a concrete base and for livery yards, an RSJ Steel and Concrete Panels construction with a concrete base.
We use a RC35 Concrete Mix with added fibres for strength and a urine resistant additive. We use K Forms as an expansion joint for longevity as opposed to wood, (which will rot in time).
Things to consider when constructing your Muck Clamp;
Size: number of horses on site, frequency of removal.
Location; access for removal and proximity to a watercourse.
Consideration should also be given to the possibility of reduced access to the Muck Clamp for emptying during the winter months.
