Stables & American Barns

Stables & American Barns

From a single stable, to a stable complex, through to an American barn… and everything in between; field shelters, hay/straw barns and workshops;

“Quality wooden buildings built to your specification”.

We offer a free, no obligation site visit, during this site visit we can discuss your requirements and help you to design a Stable Block or American Barn which works for you, your lifestyle and your horses.  A bespoke Stable Block or American Barn, carefully designed, specifically with you in mind.

Taking into account, not only the number of horses, the current layout of your yard, the size of the yard, site restrictions; eg. access, to make your everyday routine run like clockwork. With all your facilities conveniently placed to make a smooth running yard that works for you.

Options to consider:

Concrete Base

We can lay a quality concrete base for your Stable Block or American Barn.

We use a RC35 Concrete Mix with added fibres for strength and a urine resistant additive.

We use K Forms as an expansion joint for longevity as opposed to wood, (which will rot in time).

We install concrete dished drains during the construction of the base which takes the water away from the yard and integrated removable silt buckets.

During the construction of the base, ducting for mains services is also laid.

Once the Concrete Base is completed, a single course of engineering bricks is then laid for your building to be sited on, this acts as a dampcourse and helps further protect the timber frame of the buildings.

Yard Area

All complete with a safe and secure, post and railed fenced, yard area.

Planning Permission

We work alongside a local Planning Consultant who can submit your Planning Application on your behalf.

Our Year in one Photo, 2024/2025

2025 Equestrian Construction Projects

Happy 5th Birthday, Campion Equestrian Construction!

30.11.2024 – 30.11.2025

2024/2025 has by far exceeded our expectations. We have had such a fantastic year, having been awarded some amazing jobs.

We were especially proud to be awarded the new Learn-to-Ride Centre project for New Hall School, Chelmsford, Essex.  Working on this project has been one of the highlights of the past 5 years of the Company, one of which we are particularly proud of.

This year we have built:

Arena’s, (with various surfaces; Martin Collins, Andrews Bowen and Combi Ride); Indoor and Outdoor,

4 Stable Blocks and their respective Stable Bases,

Turnout Pens,

a Hay/Straw Barn,

Muck Clamps,

 refurbished Arena’s and Turnout Pens,

installed Post & Rail fencing (lots of it)

and completed Arena Gradings (Including for our regular Customer, ARU Writtle Equine Training & Development Centre)

We have created a photo of the highlights of our year: “Our Year in one Photo”

Our Customers

Customer Shout out

Shout out to our Customers’ in this months’ blog!

Reviews

As a majority of our work comes from good old fashioned “word of mouth”, this blog is to show our appreciation to our Customers’, who not only recommend us, but also take the time to leave us a review.

Snippets from some of the reviews we have been given are below, all our reviews can be seen by clicking here

Viewings

Thank you also to our Customers’ who are happy to show our prospective customers around their facilities, built by us. (There have been some friendships formed through these visits, which is nice to hear).

These visits are reassuring for potential clients as they can see our work in person, prior to awarding us a job.

Hospitality

And finally, not forgetting the hospitality we are shown on site. We don’t expect your best tea & china, tea cosy and fully stocked biscuit jar! (although it did go down quite well, Laura!!), but we do appreciate the sight of a lovely mug of hot tea making its way across the field!

Muck Clamps

Muck clamps for home use

Often overlooked, but necessary nonetheless!

These can be built in any size, depending on your requirements.

For home/personal use we would recommend an RSJ Steel and Sleeper construction with a concrete base and for livery yards, an RSJ Steel and Concrete Panels construction with a concrete base.

We use a RC35 Concrete Mix with added fibres for strength and a urine resistant additive. We use K Forms as an expansion joint for longevity as opposed to wood, (which will rot in time).

Things to consider when constructing your Muck Clamp;

Size: number of horses on site, frequency of removal.

Location; access for removal and proximity to a watercourse.

Consideration should also be given to the possibility of reduced access to the Muck Clamp for emptying during the winter months.
